Each knitting needle is a handmade U nikat.  
Products of this type are made exclusively from Kithul palm trees, which are no longer used agriculturally. The palm tree is used in many ways, from the inflorescence palm wine, so-called toddy is obtained. Sweet powder is made from the dried pulp. The leaves and the pulp are also a delicacy for the local elephants. So the palm is used until the end of its life.
